Location:

The Volcano area is located on the South East part of the Big Island of Hawaii, about 97 miles from Kona  and 28 miles from Hilo.  The "Big Island" is the most southern island in the State of Hawaii.   

On the above map ( Click on map for larger view) the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is marked in green.  If you enjoy hiking, there are miles and miles of trails.  

From Hilo:  

From Hilo: 30 miles southwest on Highway 11;

From Kailua-Kona: 

96 miles southeast on Highway 11, or 125 miles through Waimea and Hilo via Highways 19 and 11.
