Ohana means the Gathering or Family house in the Hawaiian language, and you'll find the Ohana House to be the perfect gathering place for your time in Volcano. At 3,500 foot altitude, you'll enjoy a temperate climate year-round and without the insects or heat of the coastal towns. The quaint village of Volcano has restaurants, galleries, a winery, golf course and shops for all your needs. Outdoor adventures including walking, hiking, bird-watching and biking. A quick 30 minute drive takes you to Hilo, Hawaii's second largest city. Lava flows, waterfalls, black sand beaches, thermal-heated ponds and snorkeling are all less than an hour's drive away.

The adjoining property can be rented also ( 2 add'l 3 bedroom houses), as well as a great yoga studio that can serve as a meeting room. Perfect for retreats or reunions.

The Ohana House has three bedrooms and a loft, a fully equipped kitchen and large dining area. The great room is heated by a new gas stove, and there is supplemental electric heat in most rooms.

The Paradise Suite is spacious and very private with its own entrance - our most requested room for honeymooners. This room has a private bath w/full size tub/shower, a desk, ceiling fan and lots of light and windows looking out to the magical landscape.

The Ohia Room has its own entrance, a large closet with sliding mirrored doors and private vanity.

The Tropical Sunrise Room has a Queen-sized bed, closet with sliding mirrored doors, and beautiful views of the Ohia trees in the fern forest.

The Loft is the perfect retreat with two twin beds with nightand and dresser with light, bright windows looking out on the tropical rainforest. All rooms have luxury cotton linens and tropical Hawaiian décor.

Guest Feedback:	"Relaxing stay near the volcano" We decided to visit the volcano during our sojourn on the Big Island. The Ohana House was the perfect place to stay for our family. It was relaxing, cozy, safe, clean, and close to everything in the area of the volcano. We times our stay in Volcano 1/2 way through our vacation, and it was nice to have use of the W/D, making it possible for us to pack only 1/2 of the clothes for the vacation than we would otherwise have had to pack. A great stay, and highly recommended! Thank you for the fine hospitality. We could have stayed for several more days. The house was perfect for our extended family gathering of mine. So Eden sank to grief. So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay - Robert Frost Wow! So awesome, visit to Eden must come to a close -- back to reality :-( This house is great. I recommend it to everyone. It is OMG cool. Very cozy. What a great place to enjoy Paradise! The lovely home and amenities. The gracious decor. We couldn't ask for more. Thank you for all the lovely coffee and fruit. We really enjoyed our stay. We hiked the park under sunny skies - saw the eruption plumes and craters.
