My Island B&B

The historic Lyman Missionary House is the centerpiece of My Island Bed & Breakfast Inn. It is located in Volcano Village on a seven-acre botanical estate that flowers faithfully all year round.

	The owners, Gordon and Joan Morse, provide a "real" Bed and Breakfast experience. This historical building is one of the oldest in town, and surrounded by a beautiful garden. This B&B also has a small building next to the main residence, which has three rooms, each with private entrance and private bath. If family interaction is what you are looking for, My Island is your place to stay.
Gordon and his wife Joann also live in the main historic house. Their daughter Kii is the manager of My Island. These three are the type of people who enjoy company. The main house has a resident cat - a Snowshoe Siamese named Maka
GARDEN ROOMS:
Walk right out from My Island Bed and Breakfast Inn's Garden rooms into a spectacular flowering paradise. These ground floor units are located away from the main house.	All Garden Rooms have private entrances, private baths, queen and single beds, refrigerators, writing tables, and floor to ceiling windows.

YELLOW GARDEN UNIT (Room has a yellow door):	This room is in a triplex building separate from the main historic house with a private entrance, private bathroom, 1 queen bed, refrigerator (no cooking), and sliding glass doors that open to a shared lanai overlooking the peaceful gardens and extensive botanical grounds. BLUE ROOM:	The Blue Room has a queen and single bed while the Yellow Room has only a queen, but both have private entrances and baths, refrigerators and writing tables. Sliding glass doors lead to a shared patio overlooking the gardens with an orchid hill as its centerpiece. Parking for these rooms are only a few feet away from the doors. RED ROOM:	The traditionally designed Red Room (aka STUDIO) with period style wainscotting is a studio with kitchenette, private bath, a queen and a single bed, telephone and television. A special amenity is the glass roof over the tub/shower, creating a feeling of light and space. Windows look out onto a cacophony of bamboo and anthuriums. Main House Rooms:
The In-Law Room is located on the ground floor of the historic My Island house in Volcano. This comfortable sleeping place features a traditional decor with wainscotting. Queen size bed, your own private bath and a personal sitting area for reading the many books about Hawaii made available by your hosts. The windows take in the morning light that filters gently into the room through the rainforest and wild ginger. KII ROOM:	The Kii Room is located on the second floor. It sleeps two, in single beds, and a shared bath in the hallway. A window overlooks the entry garden and primal rainforest. Light shines through the images of orchids artistically depicted in the stain glass window panes. One Person $ 65.00 Two People $ 80.00 2009 Rates: $85 ( 2 people), $70 single person
FAMILY ROOM:	A very large Family Room (often called Grandma's attic) takes up the entire third floor. It offers a queen and three single beds, a living room situation, and a half bath private to the room. For showering, guests share the bathroom on the second floor. Windows look out into the rainforest and gardens. Rain pattering on the roof puts guests to sleep. Due to the many stairs to this room, no children under 7 will be allowed. 	DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION POLICY:
Deposit Policy:	MasterCard, Visa, or Discover required for reservation
Cancellation Policy:	If you send a personal check or money order, the deposit amount is fully refundable up to two weeks prior to your arrival date. If you give us your credit card number, your card will NOT be charged ahead of time. Payment for the entire reservation must be made in person by the last day of your stay with us. In the event that you FAIL TO SHOW UP for the reservation and DID NOT cancel with us, your credit card will be charged for the entire reservation amount.
Pet Policy:	Since we have our own cat, we do not accept any reservations with animals.
No Smoking Policy:	We have a no smoking policy in effect for all our accommodations. You are welcome to smoke outside on the porches or on the grounds. A $200.00 fine will be charged to your credit card if we find that smoking has taken place in our accommodations.
Children Policy:	We love children, but request that families traveling with young children consider booking one of our guest houses instead of the individual guest rooms. The guest rooms are not suitable for small children, due to the age of the buildings, stairs, and shared common walls with other guest rooms. The guest houses offer much more privacy, room to spread out, more amenities, separate sleeping arrangements, and outdoors to explore.
