Two of the homes have additional lofts and comfortable, spacious common areas. Each is decorated with traditional Hawaiian style furniture, a fully equipped kitchen and have been newly remodeled. Each room can have either two twin beds or one king size bed with private baths. Fluffy towels, cotton linens and tropical flowers await you.

Mahalo Hawaiian Retreat The retreat can sleep up to 25 people (but we can make special arrangements for more people at our other rentals close by. Our private facility, the Mana Studio, can accommodate classes up to 35 people and groups up to 45 people. It provides the perfect place facilitators need for a quiet, relaxed and healing

Mahalo Hawaiian Retreat The Mana Studio is an 1000 square foot custom wood crafted room that has a wood floor, high beam ceilings, skylights, and custom sliding glass windows that open to the beauty of
the lush rainforest. The peaceful and nature surroundings will allow participants to experience relaxation and rejuvenation in their bodies and minds.

Family House

Accommodations Ohana (Gathering) House has 3 bedrooms, a loft, 2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen and large dining area. Decorated with Hawaiian style furniture, there is a wood burning fireplace, washer/dryer and two baths with full size tub/shower. Has CD player, phone, wireless internet.

Paradise Suite

A spacious room that is very private and has its own entrance. Our most requested room for honeymooners. This room has a private bath w/full size tub/shower, a desk and lots of light and windows looking out to the magical landscape. High speed internet access available.

Ohia Room

This bedroom has its own entrance, a large closet with sliding mirrored doors, private vanity and detached bathroom with full size shower/tub. High Speed Internet access available.

Tropical Sunrise Room

This private, cozy room has a Queen size bed, closet with sliding mirrored doors. Beautiful views of the Ohia trees in the fern forest. Detached bath with full size shower/tub. High speed internet available.

Gathering House

Accommodations The Gathering House has 3 bedrooms each with a private bath, a fully equipped kitchen and cozy dining/living room. A deck on the front porch with patio furniture is a perfect place to overlook the rainforest and garden. Has CD player, phone.

Ginger Room

A spacious bedroom that is quiet, full of light and airiness. Wood floors, beautifully decorated, private bathroom with full size tub/shower.

Rainforest Suite

A larger private room with beautiful view of surrounding rainforest. Choice of king size beds or twins, has wood flooring, large windows, sliding glass door into the magical gardens. Private bathroom with shower.

Bamboo Room

A charming bedroom with colorful Hawaiian comforters, beautiful rainforest views,
wood flooring, a cozy private bathroom with shower.

Aloha House

Aloha (Hello, Goodbye, Love, Kindness) House has 3 bedrooms, a loft, 3 baths, a fully equipped kitchen and small eating area off the kitchen. A small deck off the front porch overlooks a private forest. Also has washer/dryer, CD player, phone.

Fern Suite Accommodations

A larger peaceful room amidst the soothing sounds of nature. Lots of light and views of hapu’u, the fern trees. This airy room has wood floors and
private bathroom with shower.

Garden Room Accommodations

A cozy room with its own private deck through a sliding glass door, overlooking the lush gardens. Wood flooring, Hawaiian style furniture and private bath with shower.

We stay in some swankier places, but they always cite how comfortable they are at your house. Mahalo I have rented through Beate for the past three years and have had nothing but great experiences. Dan Brownstein, New York We absolutely loved the Aloha House/Volcano Lodge operated by Beate Arnopole, and wished we had more time there. It was so spacious even for our large group that each of our 5 family groups still had privacy, despite having some early risers and other night owls. The beds were all comfortable, and the rooms were all nice. We particularly loved the master suite, of course. The kitchen was well equipped, and we really enjoyed the layout since everyone tends to congregate around the kitchen during meal preparations. One of the things all our families commented on was that the volcano area is the perfect antidote to the heat (and the comparative crowds, during holiday weeks) of the coast areas. It's tempting when planning a Hawai'i vacation to concentrate on beaches, ocean, and popular tourist destination towns, and when we planned this one we weren't sure that the other families (who'd never been there) would love Volcano as we do. We were afraid that they'd feel we'd taken time away from the beaches and other attractions. We also weren't sure we'd like being a little bit apart from the Village, since we've always stayed right at the volcano before. But the whole family agreed they'd want a longer stay in volcano, and that the bus tours through the Volcano House would make it feel less special to stay there. The Aloha House/Volcano Lodge is truly a retreat, while being so close to the wonderful village and volcano sights & hikes, and it was a treat for everyone. But no worry at the Lodge, even in the midnight. Slept well there with being located in the mountain forest. Good way to get back from Hilo, we could experience various weathers at once.
