Engraving can be done with or without "Hawaiian" such as "Our Hawaiian Wedding" or "Our Vacation". Adding custom engraved names or text and/or dates can be added for nominal charge.

ABOUT YOUR KOA WOOD ALBUM

Koa is one of Hawaii's largest native trees and has been called "King of the Hawaiian Woods".  Koa Wood is unique to the islands.  Koa trees can mature to have trunks 6 feet in diameter and stand 100 feet tall.  These giant Koa's are occasionally seen in the few virgin Koa forests that survive today in the mountains on the island of Hawaii.  the wood is we use for the photo albums is medium to dark brown with dark grain and sometimes having wavy or curly golden reflections. 

Koa trees were mentioned often in ancient stories and songs and provided the wood to make calabashes or "umekela'au" bowls, surfboards, weaponry, ukuleles, and canoe paddles.  Canoes carved from Koa made the finest canoes in the pacific. 

Our photo albums are finished with a premium quality wood finish that has superior resistance to water, alcohol, scratching and common household detergents.  Because wood is a natural product, it reacts to sunlight, extreme changes in heat and humidity.  To ensure a lifetime of memories from you album, it must be protected from these elements.  

Each album includes 6 acid-free pages of Kodacru acetate inserts which provide the ultimate protection with the highest optical clarity available.  parchment colored fly leaves are attached to protect the acetate against scratching.  Photos can be arranged and secured to the pull-out mat with photo tape, glue stick, or mounting corners for a professional and elegant look  Slip-in mats are available for 8x10 and 10x10 albums for single or multiple mat framed photos. 

The golden hinge binding system is made of high-grade aluminum alloy that retains the gold look without tarnishing or rusting.  It is the most flexible and durable on the market today.  This binding system also offers unlimited add-on insert capability, by pushing the wire rod out of the hinge and adding or removing pages from any part .
