hapu`u ferns and old growth `ohi`a trees of Volcano Village. Our back
yard borders on the Kilauea Forest Reserve and we enjoy daily visits
by grazing cows (see photos) and wild turkeys. Wake to the sound
endemic rainforest birds, the `i`iwi and apapane, rare honey creepers
found only in this area. |

- Take Hwy. #11 (Hawaii Belt Road) 90
miles to Volcano Village.
- You will go through Kailua-Kona, Captain
Cook, Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, Na'alehu, Pahala and Volcano
National Park.
- 1 mile past Volcano National Park
entrance, turn left on the Old Volcano Highway.
- In 3/10 miles take the first left
on to Kalanikoa. This and all following roads are single lane.
- In 3/10 mile, turn left at the
"T" intersection which is Kilauea.
- Follow the road 1/2 mile. You will see a
"No Outlet" sign. The house is the 3rd house on the left after the
sign.

- Take Highway #11 (Kanoelehua Ave.) 26
miles towards Volcano.
- 9/10 mile after the 26 mile marker, you
will turn right onto Haunani Road.
- At the first intersection, turn left
onto the Old Volcano Highway.
- Continue 3/10 mile to the first road
which is called Kalanikoa and turn right. (The roads are
vary narrow from this point)
- In 3/10 mile, turn left at the
"T" intersection which is Kilauea.
- Follow the road 1/2 mile. You will see a
